| Lord Watson (56) today pled guilty to a charge of wilful fire-raising when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.
He admitted setting fire to a curtain at the Prestonfield House Hotel, Edinburgh, and putting lives in danger.
Accepting his resignation, United chairman Eddie Thompson said, “It is with regret that we have today accepted the resignation of Mike Watson as a director of the club.
“On behalf of the club and the board of directors, I would like to thank Mike for his contribution to Dundee United as a director over the past two years and his support for the club as a fan for over 40 years.”
The Glasgow Cathcart MSP also intends to resign from the Scottish Parliament. |
