Fourteen pupils from Dundee High are facing a gruelling challenge this weekend, as they take part in the Loch Lomond Triathlon on August 27.
The boys, all of whom are in S4 and S5, have been training hard for the event, in which they must complete 1.7km in a Canadian canoe, 1.7km by bicycle, and a 3.4km run, all without a break.

The event, organised by Lomond School, will attract teams from schools all over Scotland. The pupils will compete in teams of two.

Gordon Ross, outdoor activities co-ordinator for Dundee High, has overseen the training for the event.

Gordon said, “The distances in this competition are quite short, but with participants moving straight from one activity to the next, the event will be physical and technically challenging.

“The top team will be those that are fit, strong, competent in each discipline and must work well along side their partner.”
