Lotto prize remains unclaimed in Dundee
Despite a wave of publicity and the prospect of collecting a small fortune, the owner of a winning lottery ticket in Dundee has still to claim their prize, writes Graeme Strachan.
Someone in the city is sitting on an unclaimed prize of £63,330 after matching five numbers and the bonus ball in the Lotto draw on Wednesday, July 27.

The winning numbers were 10, 12, 13, 17, 31, 37 and the bonus number was 44.

National Lottery operators Camelot have urged Dundonians to check hidden places for the ticket.

However, the appeal has so far proved fruitless.

The lucky ticket-holder has until January 23 to make their claim, but if no-one comes forward before the deadline, the prize money, plus interest, will go to good causes — adding to the £17 billion already raised through lottery ticket sales over the last 10 years.

“It is incredible that people forget to check their ticket,” said a spokesman for Camelot today.

“People must always keep their tickets in a safe place and check their numbers just in case. The draw took place on July 27, so they could have been on holiday and didn’t check their ticket.”

Lottery winners have 180 days to claim their prize.

“There are tickets out there that go unclaimed,” the spokesman added.

“They may be lost or people don’t realise they have a winning ticket. It’s not as if there is a shortage of ways to check the numbers, so it’s an odd one, but not unusual.

“Unclaimed tickets have been around as long as the National Lottery.”
