Saints’ delight as Scotland finally gets a work permit
St Johnstone’s efforts to sign Jason Scotland have paid off after the Perth club were granted a work permit for the Trinidad and Tobago international forward late this afternoon. They are now likely to sign the player tomorrow (writes James Masson).
Although official confirmation of the permit isn’t due to arrive until tomorrow, Saints’ managing director Stewart Duff revealed their bid had been successful.

Stewart, accompanied by player/manager Owen Coyle, put forward Saints’ proposal at Hampden Park this morning and, after hearing of the decision, commented, “We’re delighted. We felt we put forward a good presentation of our case.”
