| The event, at Grey Lodge Settlement, pulled together the many cultures and nationalities that attend the Access to Learning project, which is funded by the Scottish Executive through the Better Neighbourhood Services Fund.
Communities convener Chris Hind attended the event and said, “It is a pleasure to be part of this multi-cultural celebration and to see so many people from different backgrounds coming together to celebrate culture.
“The Access to Learning project has run this event in partnership with Bruce Street Child & Family Centre and the Grey Lodge Settlement where the good working partnership is targeting hard to reach communities.
“This kind of project is vital to reach out to minority ethnic communities, not only to promote a sense of belonging, but also to provide parents and their children with the necessary knowledge and confidence to encourage greater involvement with their own and their education.” |
