| It happened on Dock Street shortly before 1pm when the man, driving east in a Vauxhall Astra, was involved in a head-on collision with a westbound van.
It’s understood the Astra driver may have suffered a heart attack just prior to the collision.
A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said three people had been taken to hospital — two with minor injuries and one, the driver of the Astra, in a serious condition.
Traffic was reduced to one lane around the scene of the accident, and the police accident investigation team was also in attendance. |
