| The first arrivals were two De Havilland Chipmunks from the Caledonian Chipmunks display team, who touched down at RM Condor after flying from their Prestwick base.
One of the aircraft was piloted by Captain Declan Curtis, who will be performing his first-ever public flying display before the massive crowd expected at Victoria Park tomorrow.
Captain Curtis was welcomed to Arbroath by event manager Gill Howie, of Squadron Prints.
During the course of today the organisers will be kept busy with the arrival of the main helicopter participants — the Tiger Puma, Gazelle and Chinook — from their bases across the country.
Gill warned that people living in the Arbroath area were likely to hear a lot of aircraft noise today as the various planes and helicopters arrived and carried out their final checks of the arena area.
