Colin hopes to be the Strongman
 


 
Tayside Police constable Colin Echevarria, based in Auchterarder, is to compete in the Blair Atholl Highland Games Strongman competition on May 29.
The 24-year-old is only in his first season in the sport, but has been in training for the event for the last six months.

Every year, athletes from around Scotland and the UK to compete in the Blair Atholl event, which consists of four gruelling events — the log lift, the farmers’ walk, the van lift, and the famous McGlashan stones.

A former St John’s High School pupil and graduate of the University of Abertay, Colin said he was looking forward to his big day.

“My ambition is to one day make it to the World’s Strongest Man. I’ll just have to wait and see, but for now I’d be happy with the title of Scotland’s strongest police officer!”
