Boys’ piping success

The pipe band of the 6th/8th Dundee Company of The Boys’ Brigade, based in Lochee, are celebrating after their success at the Scottish BB Bands Contest, held in East Kilbride.
The pipers and drummers (above) came home with the first place trophy for pipe band Contest class, after taking on bands from Glasgow, Troon, Largs and Houston.

As a result of their success, they were invited to compete in the Championship class and performed well enough to gain second place, beaten only by three-quarters of a point.

The band also gained third and fourth places in a mini-bands contest and was awarded two certificates for best turned out band.
