Pair stayed the course

Perth Races’ Julie Manners presents a quaich to Mike (left) and Andrew.

Englishmen Andrew Morgan and Michael Shiffner had a dream — to visit every racecourse in Britain, all 59 of them.
Up till this week, they’d managed 58. Yesterday the quest ended at Perth, home of Britain’s most northerly track.

“We started this whole thing in the 1980s,” said Andrew.

“We kept Perth to the last because it’s so far north. But we flew up to Edinburgh yesterday, then made our way to Perth and then it was out to the racecourse. And it really is good to be here.”
