| In London, Jacqui will meet up with about 40 other British women who are undertaking the challenge, before flying out to Beijing to meet their hosts and prepare for the trek.
Jacqui and her fellow walkers will set out to cover a 60-mile section of the Great Wall, travelling through mountainous terrain and staying fairly basic lodge accommodation. They are scheduled to complete the challenge in seven days.
Once she returns from China, Jacqui will offer support and encouragement to her sister Lynn Cameron, who will take part in November’s New York marathon, also to raise money for Breast Cancer Care. They hope their experiences will raise around £6000.
Farmer’s wife Jacqui, who lives at North Mains of Cononsyth, near Friockheim, said, “I’ve made sure my trusty walking boots, which have been well and truly broken in, are in my rucksack.” |
