YOUNG SAINTS SHINE
The emergence of teenage talents Stevie McManus, Andy Jackson and Willie Dyer into the St Johnstone first team has been a boost to the Perth club — and youth supremo Tommy Campbell insists there are more to come (writes James Masson).
“This trio were looking like first-team players and now they’ve made it into the top side. A couple of others have a chance of joining them, one being midfield player Kevin Moon, like Stevie, a local lad,” said Tommy.

“I also have high hopes for goalkeeper Gordon O’Brien. He’s a bit younger than the rest, but he, too, has great potential.

“Our U/19s won the Scottish Football League title and Stevie, Andy, Willie and Kevin are members of that side.

“And two others, Chris Anton and Jonathan Black, have been on international duty with the Scottish Schools.

“I’m delighted Stevie, Andy and Willie have made it into the top team. And that has given the others a boost.”
