Author establishes scholarship
An acclaimed crime writer, whose portrayal of the darker side of Edinburgh has proved irresistible to fans, is to support the next generation of writers and budding media experts at Fife College by establishing a new scholarship.
As author of the Inspector Rebus series, Ian Rankin has regularly topped bestseller lists and seen his work dramatised for TV and translated into 22 languages.

Born in Fife in 1960, and brought up in Cardenden, Rankin is now set to support three students a year for the next three years through a donation to the Adam Smith Foundation of Fife College.

Full-time students studying NQ Communication and Media, HNC/D Communication with Media or HNC/D Practical Journalism are eligible to apply for the award.
