Community wardens’ new patch

Dundee community wardens (from left) Steve, Paul and Vicky have been promoting their work as part of the Employment and Learning/Community Safety Week at the Turnaround Project in Craigowan Road.

Community wardens are now patrolling the streets of the Pitkerro ward of Dundee.
Following the success of the scheme in other areas of Dundee, councillors gave approval for it to be extended to Pitkerro last month.

Teams have already been established in Hilltown/Bowbridge, Douglas, Whitfield, Stobswell and Camperdown/ Lochee West.

Councillors in wards where wardens have already been introduced have been impressed with the success of the scheme.

Lochee West councillor Jill Shimi told the city council’s communties committee last month she had received positive feedback from her constituents, and the wardens had proved to be particularly good at responding to instances of illegal dumping and fly-tipping.
