| The Trinidad defender had to sit out last weekend’s win over Inverness Caley Thistle because of a knee injury that has been giving him problems for the past few weeks and it could sideline him again.
By today, he was doing only light work in training, leaving boss Jim Duffy to admit he was still a concern.
“I think he has to be considered extremely doubtful for Saturday. It’s a thing with his knee that has been flaring up after games, but, this time, instead of taking just a couple of days to settle down, it has been bothering him for over a week.
“He might still make it, but he is struggling and time is running out for him.”
Garry Brady will make the squad after returning to full training for the first time since the start of the month, though he is unlikely to be sharp enough to be considered for the starting line-up.
Away from his preparations for the weekend fixture, Jim was continuing his efforts to sign up players whose contracts expire in the summer.
Today, he was having further talks with goalkeeper Derek Soutar’s agent and he is also awaiting a response from young defender Callum Macdonald to the offer of a contract that was made last week.
While there is still some negotiating to be done, signs are encouraging that the pair will follow the lead of Steven Robb and Stephen McNally, who penned new deals a week ago. |
