Fund-raising efforts from pupils at Dundee’s St Peter and Paul Primary School will help to give 2000 people in developing countries clean water.
A cheque for £3000 was presented to Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund today at the school.

The money was raised through a non-uniform day and from funds collected at the school’s 70th anniversary celebration.

Some of the money will go towards fitting four water points, each providing clean water for up to 500 people at refugee camps. The other £1000 will go towards the SCIAF tsunami disaster appeal (see also page 8).

Head teacher Hugh Gallagher said, “I am absolutely delighted that pupils have been so generous.”

SCIAF volunteer Jimmy Gordon said, “The £1000 for the tsunami appeal will be added to £600,000 donated to SCIAF’s appeal.”
