Broughty Ferry woman Mrs Mary Macdonald celebrated her 105th birthday at Cath Rennies, in Wellbank, today.
She first came to Dundee in 1920, from Morayshire, for nursing training.

She worked in the Royal Infirmary and Maryfield Hospital and met her husband, Dr John Macdonald, a medical superintendent at Maryfield.

She returned to nursing at Maryfield during the second world war, where she helped care for injured soldiers.

Mrs Macdonald has a son, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who live in the USA.
