Lord Provost John Letford was today joined by Santa Claus to launch Dundee city centre’s Continental Christmas Market.
Part of the Christmas in the City campaign, the market runs from Thursday until Sunday, offering Dundee shoppers a real taste of Europe with 35 stalls of produce and crafts.

The market will be open until 9 pm today to coincide with the City Centre Shopping Bonanza, with selected retailers offering discounts from 10% to 50% over the evening.

The market then runs from 9 am-5.30 pm on Friday and Saturday, and 10 am-4 pm on Sunday.

Lord Provost John Letford, said, “The Christmas in the City campaign is an excellent way to highlight the superb choice that is available in Dundee’s retail sector while offering a unique experience like the continental market.

“Dundee is fast becoming a favourite shopping destination for many people outwith the city and we are very keen to build on that momentum.

“Everyone, I am sure, is looking forward to a very busy time in the lead-up to Christmas.”

The next event in the Christmas in the City calendar is the Christmas craft and produce market running from December 10-12.
