Bricks gift pile grows

As someone who has filled shoeboxes with goodies for a number of years for the Blythswood Trust’s appeals to help the poor, Norma Conway knows just how much joy even the smallest gift can bring.
So when she saw the Tele’s plea for plastic building bricks, she knew she had found a good home for her sons’ treasured Lego.

Says Norma, who lives in Dundee, “The stuff has been lying in the attic for years. And considering my elder son has just passed his 40th birthday, I felt safe to say he wouldn’t want it any more.

“But seriously, I know how much Steven and his brother Kevin enjoyed playing with it, and I know the children in Romania will as well.

“I think the Tele’s appeal is great and I’m sure these children will get a lot of enjoyment from it.

Norma took her donations along to Ardler Library and Neighbourhood Centre.

The Tele launched its appeal for wool and toy building bricks in conjunction with My Weekly magazine and Dundee City Council. City libraries are the collecting points.
