Moving to Cape Town

Charlie and Moira (centre) with well-wishers.

Heading for a new life in South Africa are former Dundee Tory councillor and publican Charlie Barton and his wife, Moira.
The couple are setting up home in Cape Town where one of their sons, Philip, lives and works.

Charlie and Moira, who is a former president of the Dundee Ladies Licensed Trade Association, have been stalwarts of St Andrew’s Cathedral for many years.

Friends gathered in the church for a mass celebrated by administrator Father Michael Milton and former administrator Canon Kenneth McBride to bid them farewell.

A reception and presentation to mark their departure was held afterwards in the church hall.
