| Shred-It’s east of Scotland branch came top in an international customer service survey and local managing director Henry Barge received the award from company founder and president Greg Brophie in Toronto.
Mr Barge said it had been a very exciting initial two years for the branch.
“We have grown our business by more than 75% and now have over 1000 customers in Scotland.
“Winning this international award for customer service is important to everyone here at our branch in Cowdenbeath as we are all dedicated to our clients’ total satisfaction,” he added.
Companies now realise the importance of dealing properly with their confidential waste — organisations can now be fined up to £20,000 under the Data Protection Act if they are caught disposing of waste inappropriately.
Shred-It collects paper from a company’s premises and with a specially adapted 17- tonne truck, — which is 40 times faster than an office shredder — shreds it before leaving.
It is then recycled and each year the customer received an environmental certificate telling them how many trees they have saved. |
