REQUESTS REFUSED
St Johnstone manager John Connolly is still trying to add to his squad. But a request to take two players from Premierleague clubs on loan has been knocked back as the clubs are operating with small pools (writes James Masson).
“This is one of the drawbacks in getting players on loan,” said John. “Clubs have smaller pools than they used to have and getting players on loan is not so easy.”

Kevin Fotheringham and Kevin Rutkiewicz have still to resume training following the injuries they received against Clyde, but John hopes they’ll be back in training by Thursday.

Meanwhile, Saints will field a strong reserve side at home to East Fife tonight (7.30).

Michael Moore, Chris Hay, Ryan Stevenson, Ryan McCann, Steven Anderson and Stevie McManus are among the players who’ll be included.
