There was a ray of light shining through the murky weather at Lloyds TSB Scotland’s branch in Dundee today.
Lloyds TSB Scotland have sent a torch on a fund-raising odyssey from Inverness to Glasgow, covering 32 of its branches in Scotland, all in aid of their charity of the year Children 1st.

The torch relay reached the bank’s Meadowside branch today, before continuing on its journey to end up at the final destination of Lloyds TSB Scotland’s High Street Paisley branch on the closing weekend of the Olympic Games in Athens.

To raise money, at each of the torch’s stops, the staff are challenged to raised £250 giving the fund-raising campaign a target of £8000.

Meadowside branch manager Alan Crombie was sponsored to return to the shop floor and be a teller for the day.

He said, “My colleagues thought it would be great for me to return to the shop floor and are sponsoring me to be a teller for the day today.

“As well as refreshing my skills on the front desk, I’ll be doing my best to encourage customers and colleagues to make a donation to Children 1st.”

Staff at the Meadowside and Coldside branches in Dundee have also held book sales, cake and candy stalls and bonus ball competitions to boost the total.
