| Following on from the news at the start of the summer that the cost of season tickets had jumped dramatically, it is no great surprise that pay-as-you-go supporters will also be asked to fork out more for their football.
In recent years, prices have been pegged back, but, with increases of as much as 50% on last term, entry to Dens will be roughly in line with most other SPL grounds.
For games against Celtic, Rangers and Dundee United, adults will pay £20 for tickets for the popular Bobby Cox Stand and South Enclosure and will be charged £18 or all other opposition.
The highest price will be for Centre Stand tickets for Old Firm games and derbies, which will remove £22 from wallets.
Confirming the new rates, a club spokesman said they reflected Dundee’s need to maximise income. “The rises are necessary given the current financial climate facing Scottish football. We’ve had to ask our season ticket holders to bear price increases and it follows that there would be rises in gate prices as well,” he said.
“If we are to allow Jim Duffy to put together a team to compete at the top level of the Scottish game, these increases are needed.” |
