Primary three pupils at St Clement’s Primary School are the first in Dundee to receive new health and safety booklets.
Produced in association with The Access Partnership, Play, Stay, Keep Safe is a complete learning resource for children which encourages them to think about health and safety in all areas of their lives.

Handling and preparing food safety is another area covered in the booklets, issued by Warburtons the bakery firm, and there is also a chance for children to test their knowledge of food safety and win a pogo stick.

The children received their booklets this morning, and the company has produced another 1500 of them, which they will be giving to various other schools throughout the year.

Alastair Gourley Aberdeen bakery depot manager, said “These booklets are a fantastic resource for both children and teachers.

“They help promote important messages about health and safety in a way which not only ties in with the curriculum, but which is also fun.”

Mr Ian Rae, Head Teacher of St Clement’s Primary, said, “The children are about to depart for their summer break and during this period, awareness of health and safety issues within the home and when they are outdoors playing is paramount.

“Warburtons’ booklets will certainly help to highlight some important issues for the children.”
