| When the discount period ended yesterday, 4200 briefs had been sold — 300 more than when last year’s discount ended a full month later.
Not surprisingly, within Tannadice that’s been seen as very good news.
“It’s been difficult to draw direct comparisons this year, following the introduction of new schemes. However, the end of the discount period does allow a fair comparison to be made and we are absolutely delighted that sales are well ahead of last year’s equivalent figure,” said director Derek Robertson.
“We would like to thank all of our supporters who have bought their tickets earlier than usual and helped us with our budget planning.
“In common with previous years, there will now be a lull in sales until towards the start of the season.
“However, with season tickets still providing a considerable saving on gate prices, we expect that many supporters will still wish to take advantage.
“Last year, between the end of the discount period and the first few weeks of the season, we sold nearly 1000 season tickets.
“If we do so again this year, we will be ahead of our targets.” |
