| Among those taking part was 33-year-old Sandy Boyd, a Park Services Officer with Angus Council, based in Forfar, and Nicola Reed (29), who woks for chartered accountants Henderson Loggie in Dundee.
Each delegate had to complete a range of tasks, including firing a machine gun, taking part in vehicle and aeroplane recovery, crossing water, and completing an assault course. The delegates also carried out night activities, and faced a gruelling endurance trial.
The weekend ended with a presentation ceremony in front of an audience of employers.
Sandy, who lives in Carnoustie, said, “The personnel department suggested we take part in the event, and I jumped at the chance, as it is the type of thing I really enjoy.
“The assault course was very challenging, which was great fun, but it has also been an experience to see the firing ranges, and the weapons that the Army uses.”
The event, at Barry Buddon training camp near Carnoustie, was arranged by the Highland Reserve Forces and Cadets Association as part of the Ministry of Defence’s SaBRE initiative.
SaBRE (Supporting British Reservists and Employers), was set up to inform employers about the benefits of employing members of the Volunteer Reserve Forces.
