| The father, who has two sons at the school, was speaking after the Tele’s front page story yesterday which explained that the alleged victim had obtained a court order against the boy who, he believed, was making his life a misery.
The interim interdict was granted until a full hearing takes place into the case at Dundee Sheriff Court next week.
The alleged bullying had taken place at Craigie High School, and the parties said to be involved can’t be named for legal reasons.
In last night’s story the mother of the alleged victim said her son had been attacked, and she believed the school had not done enough to protect him.
Today the father of the accused boy said, “I am shocked and angry because we have had no visit from Tayside Police and it’s been over a week since it happened.”
He maintained it was his other son who was being bullied. He claimed his accused son was acting in defence of his brother.
“The boy accusing my son of bullying is the one doing the bullying of my other son and has been for a very long time. I reported that myself,” said the father.
“He was very frightened at first to come forward. So my son who has been accused of bullying took it into his own hands.
“He freely admits it and says he was provoked.
“He says it was just a smack. Where the accusations of fractured ribs and hurt ankle came from, I don’t know.”
The father then defended the school, saying it did take action.
“The school did take action to exclude my son. He was excluded up until Monday of this week,” he said.
“I actually grounded my son and he, as far as I am concerned, is still grounded.”
The accused boy’s father said he will not allow his son back to school — or out of the family home — until the matter is resolved.
“My son is not going to school right now, even though he is allowed back.” |
