Bear necessities for Romanian children

Staff and pupils at Dundee’s Grove Academy have been collecting teddy bears to send to sick children in Romania.
The local community has pitched in to provide over 200 bears after second and third-year pupils involved in the Evorg (Grove backwards) young enterprise company started up the Teddies for Tragedy appeal.

Gillian Ray, a Support for Learning teacher who runs Evorg with Moira Beaton, said, “Doctors in Third World countries have found that children in hospital get better more quickly when they have a bear or a toy to cuddle.”
