The British Red Cross charity shop in Perth Road, Dundee, celebrated its 10th birthday today.
During the 10 years, the shop has established itself as one of the city’s most popular charity shops and has many regular customers, particularly from the large student population in the area.

To celebrate the occasion, a number of special events took place as a way of saying thanks to customers.

Today, as well as a raffle and tombola, all clothes were sold for £1 and a birthday cake was cut to mark the occasion.

Andrew Freeman, area retail manager for Eastern Scotland, said, “We are delighted the Dundee shop has reached this milestone and even more delighted it continues to grow each year.

“Undoubtedly one of the main reasons for its success is the wonderful team of volunteers who staff the shop and greet the customers with a cheery smile.”

Shop manager Doreen Rose said she was keen to welcome both old and new customers to help the team to celebrate today, and hopes to find some new volunteers to help out in the shop.

The Perth Road shop has raised over £400,000 for the Red Cross, enabling the charity to provide much-needed services in Tayside.
