| Several Dundee properties received a ‘Changing Rooms’ style makeover from a Glenrothes construction company today.
Over 100 workers from Velux transformed properties across Dundee within one day, like workers on the BBC show.
Thousands of pounds worth of work on the basement band practise room at the Grey Lodge Settlement, the cafe and kitchen in Menzieshill Community Centre, the sheltered lounge in 218 Clepington Road and Burnside Court’s communal lounge, was carried out free of charge by the Velux team.
Gordon Lammie, Velux national service manager, explained,
“We are currently holding our three-day national conference in the Apex Hotel in Dundee and we decided that one of these days would be spent on a team-building event.
“We thought that we could be giving something back to the community while doing this and so today 139 Velux employees worked on community buildings across Dundee.”
Alan Duncan, a worker based at Grey Lodge, said the work carried out on the band practise room by the company was a ‘godsend’. |
