| Sensation in Dundee today played host to over 100 Scottish school pupils in a Formula One challenge.
The youngsters have designed, manufactured and tested their own model F1 cars. Today’s regional final saw students aiming to secure their teams’ place at the national final. They raced their team’s model car and presented their designs to the challenge judges.
F1 in Schools organiser Emma Le Beau said, “The standard at regional finals so far has been exceptional and I‘m sure the Scottish teams will compete vigorously for their place in the National Final.”
Mike Beasley, Patron of F1 in schools said, “The Challenge is a fantastic opportunity for young people to experience the excitement of the engineering industry, it really helps students to make an informed choice about their future.”
Prizes awarded included: Fastest Car, Best Engineered Car, Best Sponsorship and Marketing and the coveted title of Overall Regional Winner. |
