KEEN ON ANDY DEAL
Dundee United boss Ian McCall has set his sights on completing his next major signing a month ahead of the transfer window opening in January (writes Tom Duthie).
Ian has given himself a December 1 deadline of fixing up striker Andy McLaren on long-term contract.

One of the heroes of the 1994 cup-winning team, McLaren started a second spell at Tannadice when he joined on a short-term deal at the end of August and, having impressed since then, the manager is keen to retain his services.

“The transfer window is approaching, but my priority right now is to get Andy fixed up inside the next couple of weeks. He’s played very well since he came back here, and has been a real asset for us. We are very keen to hang on to him,” said Ian.

Meanwhile, with Charlie Miller back in full training, it looks like only long-term absentees Scott Paterson and Tony Bullock will be missing for Saturday’s lunch-time clash against league leaders Celtic.

Tickets for that game are still available from the club shop in Victoria Road and the ticket office at Tannadice.
