| Anti-war demonstrators took to the streets of Dundee today in protest at the state visit of US President George W. Bush.
Around 50 protesters gathered at Dundee University’s tower building in Perth Road before marching to the City Square for a rally.
Some carried placards with anti-war and anti-Bush statements while chanting, “George Bush, we know you, your daddy was a killer too.”
Amongst the speakers who were due to address the marchers were Iraqi woman Susan Karim, a vociferous campaigner against the war in Iraq, who now lives in Fife, and Alastair Stewart, of the university’s student’s socialist group.
The match was organised by the Stop The War Group at Dundee University. |
