A Swedish delegation are in Dundee this week to learn more about the city’s burgeoning industry in life and biosciences. The 14-strong group, from Linkoping follows on from Professor Sir Philip Cohen’s recent visit to Sweden to talk about the success of Dundee biosciences.

Sir Philip welcomed the delegates and gave them an overview of the city’s biotech activities. They were then taken on to meet Professor Roland Wolf from the university’s Biomedical Research Centre and Professor Peter Downes, Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences.

Over their two days in Dundee the delegates will hear presentations from Kevin Bazley of Scottish Enterprise Tayside and Dundee University’s commercialisation team and the university’s biotech spin-out companies Cyclacel and Axis Shield and hear how Upstate Inc has settled into the biotech sector.
