The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association is hoping to find up to 150 volunteers willing to throw themselves off the roof of Dundee’s Hilton Hotel next month.

The charity today launched a drive to find potential participants for its sponsored abseil on Sunday, August 24.

Volunteers have to find a minimum of £70 in sponsorship and pay a £10 registration fee, which will be refunded to anyone who manages to raise more than £100 for the cause.

The abseiler who raises the most cash will win a two-night stay for two people at one of a selection of Hilton hotels in Scotland, donated by the hotel chain.

“The Hilton Hotel is a marvellous venue which has a tremendous situation by the side of the River Tay,” said the charity’s fund-raising volunteer development manager, Gordon Ramsay.

“I would like to thank general manager Eric Brown and his staff for all the support they have given us.”

Anyone who would like to take part is asked to contact Tom Deans on 01307 463531, or to e-mail lisa.fairweather@ guidedogs.org.uk
