Man, 59, accused of ‘stalking’ Spar and Tesco workers

A Dundee man is to stand trial accused of stalking and spying on two shop workers over the course of more than six years.

James Don is said to have used binoculars, cameras and video recorders during his alleged campaign of harassment against the two women in Dundee between August 2009 and November last year.

He is first accused of tailing Colleen Keenan at a Spar store and other addresses in Dundee between August 17 2009 and March 2 2015.

Prosecutors say he allegedly secretly took photos and video recordings of “personal items” belonging to her within a flat in Dundee.

The 59-year-old also allegedly repeatedly parked at locations where he thought she may be and took “covert observations of her”.

Don is further alleged to have used binoculars to watch her and took photos and video recordings of her, as well as repeatedly entering a shop where she worked and requested information about her from her colleagues.

Don is further accused of stalking Louise Brady at a Tesco store in Dundee and elsewhere by repeatedly approaching her to serve him “despite other staff being more readily available to serve”.

He is also said to have repeatedly been at locations where he believed Miss Brady may be and took covert observations of her, as well as taking photos and videos of her.

Don, of Fullarton Street, Dundee, denies two charges of stalking.

He also denies one of breach of the peace on indictment at Dundee Sheriff Court.

At court today, Sheriff Alistair Carmichael set a trial date for May.
